The JJ Hooks barrier has been the de facto standard in the concrete barrier industry since gaining NCHRP 350 eligibility in 1990. Starting in 2012 several systems have been MASH tested and approved using various anchoring methods. The J hook connection is self-aligning, which allows for quick connections and removals using vertical lifts and has no loose parts to connect. Self-aligning connections means minimal guidance is needed, thereby increasing safety by reducing the need for workers to endanger their hands to make the connection. Since the barrier is symmetrical this means installation can be performed in either direction, eliminating the need to rotate the barrier. Self-aligning connections and symmetrical barrier lead to faster and safer installation, reconfiguration, and removal time.

The J-J Hooks Pin Down is ideal in front of excavations. Tested 6” (152.4 mm) in front of a 36” (914.4 mm) deep cut. Meets MASH TL-3 with a Dynamic deflection of 8.8”, using (3) headed pins for every 12’ (365.76 cm) barrier.
